Swedish fighter jets were sent this morning out to guard a Russian flight to the east of Gotland.
– Two JAS Gripen standing in preparedness have followed the flight and supervised it, says Marie Tisäter, duty officer at the Swedish Armed Forces.
Armed Forces writes in a press release that they identified a Russian flight with the two Russian bombers TU-22 over the southern Baltic Sea and east of Gotland.
Besides Swedish plan, other nations air force followed. Marie Tisäter would not comment on how close Gotland the Russian plane was. She would not say which other countries that sent up planes. – But it was over international airspace, there has been no violation.
